The next seminar of LAMA2-Europe, a broad international consortium working on Congenital Muscular Dystrophies (CMD), will be held in Istanbul from March 26 to 29, 2026. The outline of the program has been finalized, and sessions dedicated to families will also be included. Relevant information can be found at https://www.lama2conference.com.

The gene responsible for LAMA2 (merosin) deficiency was first identified in 1992 through studies involving two Turkish, one French, and one Portuguese family. Therefore, this represents a significant milestone in the history of Pediatric Neurology in our country. Accordingly, the symbolic value of hosting the 2026 meeting in Türkiye is evident.

As the Neuromuscular Disorders Research Association, we are organizing a one-day CMD course within the framework of the seminar, but with a different focus, exclusively for young researchers from our country.

This one-day training event, scheduled for Saturday, March 28, 2026, is specifically designed for individuals who have not yet completed their formal training and will have a limited capacity of 40 attendees. We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the Rectorate of Istanbul Nişantaşı University for unconditionally providing the venue and its facilities.
